We have all had those moments in life when we need a change.
Sometimes it came from an event that rocked us or sometimes from a moment when we looked up and acknowledged that we were not where we expected to be.
Ultimately, we determined we were not happy.
This has happened to me a couple of times in my life, the time when I decided my career in real estate was done, the time when I accepted my marriage was over, the time when I acknowledged my public accounting career was draining me, and most recently when I realized that my current role was not going to provide me with the fulfillment I had hoped it would.
These moments of acceptance drove me to shift gears and make massive changes in my life that required faith, courage, creativity, and a plan for action.
Now I am armed with all the lessons I have learned and all the resources available today to make this next endeavor the best yet and I want to share this journey with those of you who have found yourselves at a similar crossroads.
I am not a professional writer nor a motivational speaker so please bear with me. This will not all come out perfectly but that is okay.
I needed to start somewhere and I want to be completely authentic in this process which is both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. Some will relate and some will judge and I am prepared for both.
The best part of where I am in life right now is that my desire to inspire others is so much stronger than my fear of ridicule and criticism.
I know the tools that I use and will be sharing with you work because I have unknowingly implemented them all my life. I did not fully understand how they worked but all I knew is that when I set my sights on something new, everything eventually worked in my favor.
It is not to say that even armed with all this knowledge that this new journey will be perfect, but my focus has been transformed and I am so excited to see where it will lead.
The greatest lesson I have learned to date is the absolute requirement to focus on fulfillment. To really and truly dive into what drives me instead of setting goals based on how I wanted others to perceive me.
Understanding what brings us joy in life is critical to plan for a fulfilling future and unfortunately, most of us wait until we find ourselves at a dead end to realize that.
So, let’s not waste any more time chasing the wrong dream. Let’s learn what really “drives” us and implement a plan for a life that brings true joy as much as possible.
